Hi Ally,

Since you need as much information as possible, and ASAP, I took the 
liberty to subscribe you to the Infrared Photography Mailinglist (of 
which I am the listowner), and forwarded your request there.

This in *addition* to the strong recommendation that you read the 
IR-FAQ document first, which is linked on my homepage (see URL 
in the footer of this message). The only problem is that it says very 
little about the history of IR photography.

Further, if you have a good library available: try to find 
"Photography by Infrared", written by Walter Clark, published by 
Wiley & Son. This covers the history of IR photography quite 
thoroughly, but might be too much to digest in one day....;-))

Success with your project, and let me know if it is okay to receive 
mail from the IR mailinglist on this address (I am not sure if this is 
your personal account or from a friend/family member).
