I have not used a red filter with the HIE film but have plenty of
experience
using the film.
You do not say if you are using in a studio or outside? One problem
you might experience especially if used outside will be seeing the image
on the glass screen with the filter in place. If you can manage to
focus the
camera I can say that the focusing will be OK. We use a black IR
filter in the studio with no focus correction and they always look
sharp.
(it is my belief that any amount of focus loss will not be as great as
the 'softness' caused by the lack of the antihalation layer. any
ideas?).

You will also be all right using the normal darkslide and leather
bellows
as we I have never had any problems with these.

Have fun and remember to correct for any length in the bellows.

I have the opportunity to try 5*4 HIE with a schneider 150mm F5.6
APO Symmar lens. I intend to use #25 red filter. Has anyone experience
with the use of HIE sheet film? Considering that a red filter will be
in place for
focusing and the lens is APO, would focus correction be reqiured? Also
are the
bellows likely to be infrared proof? and then, what about film holders,
are
standard plastic ones O.K. ?
