I've been using a 630 since 1990 and I think it's a fine camera.
I use it with HIE as well as the Konica and Ilford films and
have no trouble. I did put a piece of black electrical tape over
the clear window over the film cassette, but never tested whether
that's necessary. You can use all the new EOS lenses with the
630 (which is known by a different number in Europe I believe).
