IR: New list member Bio
Name: Stephen R. Graham
Profession/Study:
Independent computing consultant
Country:
Scottish, but currently living and working in Hong Kong. Also lived and
worked in Belgium, Holland, Germany and Switzerland in the last few
years.
Personal history of photography:
Starting out seriously into photography about 4 years ago during my
first "tour" in Hong Kong, buying a 35mm SLR and a couple of lenses.
Since then I've gotten a lot more serious, not having 6 35mm SLRs and 19
lenses, 2 medium format cameras, a 35mm panoramic, a couple of point and
shoots, a full studio flash setup and quite a collection of photography
books and magazines.
Preferred subjects:
Portraiture, landscapes. About to start trying some macro and still
life.
Materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry):
I mainly use Fuji slide and print films, and Agfa, Ilford and Kodak B&W.
I do some of my own B&W development, using Agfa Rodinal exclusively. I
don't do any conventional printing, but I do have a "digital darkroom"
that I use - comprising of a 333MHz Pentium with 128MB RAM, Minolta Dual
Scan film scanner, Microtek E3 flatbed and an Epson Photo Stylus. When I
return to Scotland I plan of trying out conventional B&W.
Format (35mm/medium format/large format):
I mostly user Pentax 35mm kit, although I have a couple of medium format
TLRs and a Horizon 202 panoramic. I'm considering which medium format
SLR setup to buy into at the moment, but haven't yet decided between the
new AF 645 Pentax, or either the Maimiya 645 or RZ67.
Other strange hobbies:
Strange? Who me? Music (I own a pile of musical instruments - Yamaha
synth, violin, flute, recorder, guitar - although I can hardly scrape a
tune of any of them), reading, travel, hillwalking. I also co-maintain a
gallery for the Pentax mailing list at http://pug.komkon.org/
How did you find out about this list:
I was on the list a couple of years back when I lived in Belgium, but
unsubscribed as I was doing very little IR. I'm back into it again so
re-subscribed.
IR-Gallery:
I have a couple of IR shots in a section of the gallery of my homepage
at http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/1837/ - the IR gallery itself is at
http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/1837/ir.html and I should get around
to adding a few more pictures there soon.
Regards
Steve Graham
