You may be refering to a conversation about generating a split tone effect.
I mentioned that Agfa Multicontrast Classic (MC 111 FB) will show a split
tone effect with selenium. In my experience the dark tones turn purple
black, seemingly separating from the black/white tonal continuum (if your
printing for a full tonal range). I personally don't like the effect, though
it can be dramatic.
