Re: biography
Peter,
The effect you refer to is typical in lith printing. You will get it
with Sterling Lith paper - which is the same paper described in my book
as Process Supplies Lith. I know you can get Sterling in the States
because I have talked to the distributor. A word of warning though -
this paper is now prone to a new phenomenum known as pepper fogging.
Here the paper is sprinkled with little black dots. This did not occur
when I wrote my book and suddenly appeared on new batches about a year
later. Sterling deny they have changed the emulsion but I still have of
the old batches in my paper freezer and processing new and old back to
back reveals the truth! To get rid of pepper fogging add some 10% sodium
sulphite with or without potassium bromide to the developer. Any prbs
the drop me a note.
The second print you refer to is on Kentona paper marketed in the USA as
Luminos Tapestry which gives fantastic colours in Selenium when lithed.
The blue however is typical of lithprints on almost any lithable paper
in gold toner. It is a wonderful, clear blue and archival to boot.
