I don't think there is anyway short of testing.

If you have a leader or short piece of unexposed film, you might see if the
store would let you test the changing bag. Just take the clip inside of a
canister and only open it in the changing bag (exposed to the brightest
light available and develop promptly.

Then you will have your answer, and if you offer to pass that info on to the
store they may have an additional selling point (provided it works).
