introduction
Hello, I've been in lurk mode for about two weeks, partially bashful
but also busy with end of Spring term/beginning of Summer term. I've
found the discussions on this list informative and want to be part of
that. So, here's my bio using the recommended format. My websites
are basic, as I'm very much a beginner with html. I'm still writing
simple code and haven't tried any software for the fancier stuff, yet.
I'll be changing my website and my student's sites every month or so.
Comments are welcome. My students would especially appreciate that!
Ray
PS- I've only seen one other new listmember bio in the last two weeks.
Are these archived anywhere so that a new member can have a look-see
at who's who on the list?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - Name: Ray Hale

- Personal history of photography: I'm mostly self taught and I've
had some wonderful mentors and teachers. I've done fun, personal work

travel/corporate late '70's, PR/Educational early '80's, teaching
since '83. Started playing with digital in '97.
- Preferred subjects: wide angle landscape, close-up nature/found
still life, environmental portraits
- Materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry): HIE (maybe EIR), TMY,
TMZ, E-6 Agfa MC Matte, Kodak Ektalure & Elite, Ilford MG Warm
Polaroid transfers High contrast montages(HCS)
- Format (35mm/medium format/large format): 35mm Nikons/ Bronica ETRS,
Diana, Lubi/ Calumet 4x5, Speed Graphic
- Other strange hobbies: vintage motorcycles and VW's, Cleveland
Indians baseball cards and memorabilia (recapturing my misspent youth
at the ballpark)
- How did you find out about this list: WJ's Photo Homepage (wow, what
a site!)
- In case you already have your own IR-Gallery on the web, please
state the URL/address: (I will then also add your site to the overview
of IR-Galleries on my homepage!....think of the fame you can
get....:-))
http://cisit.santafe.cc.fl.us/~edumedia/gallery4.htm (other student &
faculty pages linked from here)
- Expand on anything photographic you like:
I love teaching. The environment is one of constant experimenting,
which I might not do otherwise. I exhibit 2-3 times a year, which
keeps me creating new work regularly. I've been working steadily with
b/w IR in my personal work for about 10 years but have only shot color
IR twice before, with unsatisfactory results. I'm looking forward to
using the new EIR and to sharing ideas with this list. My students
and I will be looking at the various IR websites mentioned or linked
from this list as we work on our IR projects. We hope you'll check
out ours.
