fabrics
Hi Gene,
Yeah this really is a problem with black fabrics. I find sometimes
with black polyester fabrics you can see a visible red cast if you
are looking for it. I've also noticed that black denim is usually ok
because its dyed with a blue or green based black.. Natural fibers and rayon are often
dyed with a bluer based dye but there are many exceptions. Nylon can
go either way and polyester is almost always gauranteed to be red
based So I guess in short some black fabrics I can tell by looking
are not going to work, others are a crapshoot, a very few I can
notice a blueish or greenish cast to them and I know will work
The best thing if you know you need black to be black for sure is to
take the camera to the fabric store and cut a swatch for each frame.
Or just get clothes and fabrics that are blue or green which are
certain to be black.
