Various topics: IR flash - M4 leak - plastic tank

Some short reactions to  recent topics:

IR leak with LEICA M4: I use a M3 (when I manage to put the film in!)
and never had this kind of trouble with the shutter. Also, if the
problem comes from the shutter, why should it only happen when you
change the lens (you don't ALWAYS have your lens cap on)

IR FLASH: I use a N 87 wrattren both on the flash and the camera, and
found after trials that the guide number has to be set to 60% of the
normal value (i.e. 20 m instead of 35 m in my case)

Plastic tank: Most black colored plastics use carbon black as a pigment
and sometimes a small amount of titanium dioxide as opacifier. This
should make them pretty opaque to IR. Concerning the plastic itself, I
guess the Paterson tank is likely made of polyethylene, and I should be
able to find the IR transmission curve if anyone is interested.
 
BTW, I will have to go to a congress near Detroit (Eagle Crest) soon...
does anyone have some place to recommend worth shooting a roll in this
area, other than a car factory ?
