Do you mean that the sky was "black" on your print from the HIE film or
that the sky was black to the naked eye?  I'm curious to know because I
just shot half a roll of Ektachrome EIR at dusk with a #12 filter at ASA
320 and got virtually no exposure! Even the street lights rendered
dimly.
