- - Name:Fadi Makarem

- - Studied medecine 8 yr (GP), Computer information systems (current
proffession), Will start sept 98 MBA


- - Photography:  I work in my free time as a freelance photographer,
mostly shooting portfolios for agencies or models. I write from time to
time technical articles for photo mags in Greece. I contribute to a
photo library mostly landscapes, touristic scenaries, special effects,
some nudes, and some B&W IR. (IR for some reason though does not sell),
except in exhibitions. I have done my fair share of exhibitions, but no
web page yet. 


- - My prefared subjects for IR B&W: nudes, trees, general landscapes
(with lots of dodging and burning in), architectural structures
(sometimes). for EIR nudes and landscapes and though processed in C41
and printed. Most of the B&W printing is done on Ilford graded paper. I
own a multigrade enlarger and paper but for some reason never got around
to using them.
I do my own B&W IR processing and printing when I have time. When time
is a problem I have a custom lab make prints of the IR negs on colour
paper, usually with a sepia tone etc, with very nice effects. I use
Canon equipment FD A1, T90, and EOS 1n.I have a lerge collection of
filters (only two lenses have the same diameter), and lenses. But for
the IR I use mostly a 28mm 2,8, and a 17mm 3,5 lenses. Love scala and
Kodak IR films. I recently experimented with SFX, but still have not
procesed it.

- - I have worked with polaroids sx70 and IR for special effects, and
usually I shoot slides and process them in C41. I like the effects that
come out which are different. For slide work I use Scala and Velvia, and
I rate it at 1/3 stop above 50, which is strange since most pros rate it
at 40. I use photoshop from time to time but just to keep up with
technology.
