Nevada, Utah, Arizona Trip
Dear All,
Just back from the trip and wish we could have stayed for another couple of
months.....
Took only three rolls of IR film with me as I couldn't get hold of a "P"
size filter before the trip despite trying throughout the UK, USA, Belgium
and scientific suppliers. Went out with a filter strategy and a couple of
cameras. The three rolls stayed safely in the cooler and were not used.
Did use a large amount of Velvia and Provia though - there were only a
couple of occasions where I would have wanted to use the IR. Colours are
so wonderful - greens, blue sky, and red rock - superb.
Travelled just under 2000 miles and saw about 1/4 of what was planned - it
was a very open plan ;-) Will just have to go back next year.
Just before leaving bought a secondhand Sony camcorder and stuck a Kodak 87
gel in front of the lens - great IR :-) Can now frame-grab from the
camcorder through the Mac. also a great preview device.....
It'll be interesting to see whether any cosmic rays collided with the IR
film during the flight there and back. Will let you know.
Have a backlog of IR negs to print up - sent some shots in for the IR
Gallery but so far Jason has been unable to read the files. Will have
another go at them when I get some time...
Later..
All the best,
Clive http://clive.bel-epa.com
