I was taught at MPW (Maine Photo Workshops) a method of agitation
that I find very good and use to this day.
I do not do a "half moon" inversion, I but quick snap of the tank
upside down and upright, with a hand on the top and bottom of the
tank to keep the motion straight. I was told this is the way to move
tthe film evenly through the chamicals and was told to do it at a
rate of 12 inversions in a ten second period once a minute and for
the first thirty seconds of each chemical.
It was explained to me that it was more consistent to do it ten
seconds every minute than to be as consistent with five second
agiation cycles every thirty seconds. T continue to use this method
to this day and have never had any agiation problems.
