Christoph,

I used my standard IR camera -- an Olympus Wide-E 35mm rangefinder. This
camera is only used for IR and the 87c filter never comes off except for
cleaning. In keeping with this filtration the only film I use is HIE [Is
there any other true infrared film out there?]. I shoot all of the images at
f11 for anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds depending on what I was seeing in the
viewer. BTW - a rangefinder style camera works much better for shooting
fireworks than an SLR because you can see where the bursts are occurring and
judge whether to leave the lens open or not.

One last thing...try to take advantage of those bright white/silver explosive
scattering bursts. I believe that these are mainly magnesium which burns very
brightly and really illuminates an area.

Good luck and remember that the best photos are made with light we can't see.
IMHO

Mike
