I don't know how fast IR goes in water, but visible red is the first thing
you loose underwater. By 40' it's mostly gone. However, in pool depths
this should not be a problem. Also at this depth you should not have a
problem with water between the lens and filter--the only thing you want is
no water or all water between the lens and filter.
