I'll take a look when I get a chance. If your application allows viewing the
RGB/grayscale pixel values (or percentage) here's some good starting points.
In photoshop, look at your "INFO" box for the value. Some folks call this
photoshop by the numbers.
Tone Pixel value Percentage
Max black 10-12 96
Max white 242 5
Middle gray 128 50
Fleshtone 166-179 30-35
(caucasian)
These will work fine for b&w images. The white, gray and blacktone values
will work fine for RGB, they just need to be the same in all three channels.
