I've looked at a few pages of color IR photographs, and personally, haven't
found most of the pictures to be aesthetically pleasing. I admit I'm drawn
to imagery that's not too jarring, and that's just a preference of mine.
But even so, most of the color IR landscapes I've seen seem to be gimmicky,
in that I don't see much beyond that it's a color infrared photograph, with
rather garish (in my personal opinion) red foliage. There are exceptions,
of course - one in particular struck me as absolutely beautiful (it has a
teal colored lake which had a sheen like molton brushed chrome, if that
were possible), and I wish I could find that site again. I've seen a couple
of portraits taken with it, and they were interesting... I imagine one
could make interesting images by applying makeup with IR in mind, to make
the model appear relatively "normal" with the IR film, while the background
still goes out of whack (I just came up with that idea while writing
this... maybe I should get off my rear and try it.).

But anyway, does anybody here who has color IR photos up want to give me
your URLS? I'd like to take a peek.

David
