Re: Minolta X300/X700/XG & HIE ?

Chris asks ...
Is it possible to shoot HIE with his Minolta X300 or X700 or XG2 bodys ? I'm
asking this, because as far as I can remember, there happed some trouble
with some older bodys like showing the patterns of the pressure-plate in the
negatives.
A while back someone here mentioned a workaround to the
pressure plate dimpling that I employed w/ my old Pentax
H1-a (now using an H2 w/ a tighter sealing back) from the
start of my HIE useage. It is merely taping a piece of the
black backing paper from a roll of 120 film to the back &
up & across the pressure plate. Get it on there so it is
strectched smoothly when the back closes. It provides a uniform
black field behind the film & if attached carefully, no
scratches.
I have also heard that this "problem" is another myth ; but
I didn't feel like testing that theory ;^)
