Looks to me like you've got an infrared film sensor that counts the
sprocket holes as the film advances.  Like the Canons, I'd be willing to
bet that if you look at the inside of your camera back, above and to the
right (assuming your take-up is on the right) of the shutter you'll see a
small oval indentation that is the sensor.
