HIE long roll

A while ago there was a discussion of rolling your own Kodak HIE
in 35mm, and a question came up about where to buy it and what
it costs. I thought of it while spooling some tonight in the
darkroom, having just bought a new roll myself.
Glazer's, probably the best camera shop in Seattle, has it in
stock in the sliding doors on the outside of their walk-in film
cooler. What they have in stock now expires 11/98.
Unfortunately I can't find my receipt at the moment, but if I
remember correctly it was around $150 per 150 foot roll, a
definite saving off of the cost of factory spooled HIE. (While
I'm at it, since I have more frozen than I'll use before the
next batch expires, they also have a good supply of year-old
Konica 750 at half price, under $3 per roll. Not sure if they
have much 120 left, but there are many bricks of expired 35mm in
the cooler.)
They sell long rolls of HIE infrequently enough that the sales
people didn't remember the price, but often enough they have a
dedicated shelf for it in the cooler. Not sure how much they
have in stock, but probably not too much, as I don't remember
having seen it in the expired 1/2 price bin.

All the usual disclaimers, just a customer who wants to keep
sales of IR products high enough to make it profitable for them :-)
