I've been "rolling my own HIE" for about five years. The downside is rolling
film in complete darkness. You can closed the lid and use the counter with
the lights on, but all the rest has to be in complete darkness. Taping
spools and finding caps, etc with no light is slooooow.
HIE also picks up the oil off of your fingers like no-ones business.
BTW, call around, I'm sure you can do better than $180 per 150 ft. roll.
