Hallo!
An opaque layer is scattering short wave radiation better than longer waves.
I long waves like Infrared radiation passes the film layer the scattering is
diminuished compared wit a mix of red and infred radiation originated by a 25
Filter.  More direect raduioation will be reflected with more contrast.  May
be that is one solu8tion of your problemd.
