Remember the pressure plate is blackened to visible light so any effect by
the plate reflections is IR only. The mix of the two reduces the effect
greatly. If you have an IR only image with a detail like the spot and a
visible light image without it and overlay the two the result is a less
obvious spot in many cases, depending on the visible lights' ratio to IR.
Hope this clarifies my thoughts for you.
