Following an advice from B. Rorslett I used Fuji RTP with very
acceptable results. Reddish colour cast can become a problem when not
properly exposed though.

The Nikon flash SB-140 requires such a filter when used in Auto mode.
A sensor takes a reading and would otherwise be fooled by visible
wavelength output of the flash. I strongly recommend using it in TTL
mode though if at all possible.
I have to say that I was interested in this technique for a
scientific project only and I can claim no particular expertise.
