Unfortunately our email sever has been down all this week so I have
missed
most of this thread, but I like the idea of replacing the image.

What I would be inclined to do is make a image with just words, saying
that
this picture is/was stolen !  The fact that it is not permanent, to me
makes no
difference.  Theft is Theft.

        I *really* like that idea of placing substitute images
        at the exact same URL ref'ed by this thief in his ad

        needn't even be one of yours   ;^)  the point about the
        limited life of an EBay ad is pertinent -- at least this
        rampant plagarism isn't a permanent thing.

        certain sleazy magazines come to mind as a possible
        source of images   ;^)
