I have not really been paying that much attention to this thread;
however, I can offer some possible helpful information. Tim is
absolutely correct, with regard to pre-mixed compounds. Without some
lab equipment, you cannot get consistant partial mixes in solution.
Since the two things that will cause a mixed solution to go bad are
oxygen and light, what I do is mix the entire compound to solution,
making sure that I have a good mix and dissolve. Then I seperate the
solution into a number of small opaque glass containers, which can be
completely filled and tightly sealed. Clearly marking each as to
contents, I store the extra containers in a cool (heat is a bad guy
too), dark place until needed. Do this in your sink, so that you can
overfill the containers.....sealing out all oxygen. I never have any
problems with this method of mixing and storing excess chemicals.
