Question about 1000 nm

Al,

1000 nm is a measure of the wavelength, i.e. color of light.
nm stands for nano meters. 1 nm = 1/1000,000,000 meters, i.e. 1.0E-9m,
or 10^(-9).
For reference, visible light falls roughly in the range of 400 nm
(violet) to 700 nm (red). 1000 nm is in the infrared range.
Light-sensitive things (eyes, light meters, film, CCDs, etc) have
different sensitivity at different wavelengths, therefore any
characterization of light sensitivity needs to specify the wavelength.
