Note that high-end tele's are more likely to be IR-corrected than 
normal focal lengths, hence the argument is less valid....;-))

(not that action necessarily means tele, and you are walking into
marginal light conditions anyway with #87C (= 12 ASA = 1/400s@xxxx
on a bright sunny day))
