Agreed, I just didn't expand upon the reasons. TMax is an active developer.
This means that development times will either be too short, or you'll have to
place the dilution in a range for which it was not designed. This requires a
bit of testing, which I don't believe the poster can do because they only have a
single roll.
Also, I've seen Konica IR developed with TMax and the results have had badly
blocked shadows and larger than expected grain. As always, I would suggest that
if this is the intended result, then one would be doing the right thing. I am
making the assumption that this is not the case.
When working with a single roll, the safe thing is to develop the film under the
suggestion of the manufacturer. When one has the opportunity to shoot multiple
rolls, testing can determine what will work best for the individual.
