EIR is a good film for night photography since it produces a rich blue cast
in response to mercury and sodium lighting whereas the Fuji emulsions
produce sickly greens and browns. I generally expose it at EI200 using an
orange (G) filter and bracket Complete darkness is not essential for
loading the film although near darkness is highly recommended (just enough
light to keep from poking your finger through the shutter). Be sure to
warn the processing lab that the infrared devices need to be turned off.
Be prepared to find a pro lab that is willing to do this for you (for a
substantial fee).
