pinholes

     My photo II students just finished their IR assignment and about 80% 
     of them suffered from the pinhole problem.  I processed four rolls 
     within the same three weeks using the same method that I teach and the 
     same chemicals and had no problem.  I really am perplexed.  I watched 
     most of them while they processed and can't imagine where the problem 
     might be.  The students did buy their film in town and I mail ordered 
     mine.  I sent a five-frame strip of negs to Kodak with a cover letter 
     detailing what we do.  Unfortunately no one thought to save their film 
     boxes so I didn't have an emulsion # to give them but they promised to 
     look at the film and let us know their findings.  Of course, I'll 
     report to the list when that happens.
     
     Perhaps we have the great god "Pinholio" to blame! (sorry, it's early 
     and the bean juice hasn't kicked in yet)
