Best IR places in Durham, NC and Minneapolis

Hello, everyone!

I would appreciate recommendations from people familiar with the following
places.  (Also, I want to shoot more IR, but I will be shooting color as well.)

I will be taking a business trip to the Raleigh-Durham area of NC in about two
weeks.  I will only have a few hours to get in some shooting so I need
suggestions as to the most photogenic locations to make the most of my time. 
I found at least three promising Botanical gardens in the area - which is the
best?  Or are there other good subjects, eg. one of the universities in the
area.  

I will also be at a conference in Minneapolis in early June.  I will probably
see some of the sites around the city with colleagues (esp. the Mall of
America) but is there any place in particular I should go?  I may even be able
to tack on a weekend at the end so are there recommended places farther
afield?  (I actually grew up in Chicago so I know how lovely the upper Great
Lakes area can get, although we never made it to Minnesota.)

Since these are primarily business trips, I have less flexibility and time to
explore.  Any guidance that makes the most of my time is greatly appreciated.
