Ed,
I'm not sure if you're looking for The City, specifically, or anywhere
down to Monterey this time. If you're going to be heading down to San Jose
(about halfway between the City and Monterey), my website is loaded with
places to photograph in IR:

If you're going to be only be in San Francisco, I'd highly suggest
The Presidio, which is a wooded, former Army base at the south end
of the Golden Gate bridge. There are also many victorian houses in
the City, if that's your thing.
