The penisula is a few miles long, consisting of various beaches and
recreational areas. Only one area, Gunnison Beach, is designated the nude
area of the park. Approximately 1/2 of Gunnison is nude, but depending on
which birds are nesting, this makes the nude area anywheres from 1/4 mile
to close to 1/2 mile long. Weekends see thousands of people, with the park
closing by 10 or so when it reaches capacity. Ask the ranges for directions
to Gunnison Beach - they are very friendly and helpful. PS - the park
charges admission fees from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so you will need
under $10 to get in.
