filter for EIR

I am gonna try out a roll of EIR. The datasheet says I have to use a
Wratten 12 filter. In www.al.nl
BW 099, or Schott OG530, is listed equivalent to Wratten 12. Is that to say
I can just buy a BW099 and put it on to shoot EIR?

There are confusing sayings. Some say a dark yellow filter is OK for EIR.
Someone however says a standard yellow is good enough, as he does not like
an orange filter for EIR. (he seems to believe BW099 is an orange filter.)
Well I understand that everyone has his own taste.

My question: if I use a dark yellow, can I just take a BW023, or can I just
use BW040 (yellow orange)? What is the point that I have to use BW099,
which is much more expensive?

Loui
