Richard-
There are what are called "video capture" devices which will allow you
to input from your camcorder right into your pc.
Here is one manufacturer called Snappy - US $99.00 -

Another nice thing is that you can also use your video cam and the
"Snappy" device for videoconferencing over the internet.
