Well, some time ago somebody at Stanford tried to make IR photos using an Agfa
1280 and it seemed to work. I tried it and it worked for me also as long as I
did not use very deep IR filters. With the #29, and 76 (?) and 88 and 87
filtesr it worked quite well as long as one was out in full sunshine.
Sure the pix are a bit red sometimes but realizing that what you want is B&W
you throw the color away during "postprocessing"!!! and you have a nice B&W IR
record. Anyway, I don't mean to make light of this but I'd say try it with your
camera and see what happens.
Otherwise, there are companies that sell small B&W CCD and CMOS cameras (video)
and these can be used to gather video and then framegrabbed to show an IR B&W
photograph. From what I've seen these camera "modules" usually don't cost more
than a hundred dollars or maybe 200 at most.
