Developing tanks for LARGE 70 mm. reels

I understand that the standard Jobo, et al, 70 mm. reels are about 5" in
diameter. The low-cost plastic reels that George Ling and I (and, I'd guess,
many others) are over 6" in diameter. My first thought was the smaller spun
stainless steel "stock pots" which, in the U.S., are quite inexpensive. I
haven't actually looked for a small enough one yet, but my problems will be
two-fold, i.e., agitation and light exclusion.
I'd rather not do all of the processing in the dark, if possible.

Has anyone come-up with clever ways to deal with these problems? Also, I
guess that the drying of the 10 to 15 foot lengths of film was be most easily
done with one of those open-type rotating racks used for processing movie
film?
