Hi Holly-
The same thing happened to me, only it was a roll of Kodak HIE. The lab I
use is a black-and-white-only lab, and this happened right around the time
Kodak released its new Black and White 400+ chromogenic film. Apparently the
lab had been receiving lots of requests to process it, and the technician
wanted to make sure it was really infrared. She immediately popped it back
in to the canister once she saw what it was, and there was only one small
strip of fogging which happened to be positioned in the space between the
first and second frames. I suspect there would have been a lot more if she
hadn't put the film back as quickly as she did. It was in the light less
than two seconds, so I would assume the chances of Kodak's film being okay
after opening like that would be kind of slim.
