Humorous point, but remember that film exposure isn't an instantaneous
process - even if light leaks into it, the longer the film is exposed to
light, the worse the damage will be. Half of that roll of film may have
been exposed to light, but only the beginning of it received enough light
for a long enough time to be noticably fogged.
