Seeing the past covered by grass - FYI

Howdy,
I was making some comparison tests of the residual Infrared sensitivity of a
couple of digital cameras (the Kodak DC260 and the Agfa 1280) and was shooting
a quad here at the university. Something quite remarkable showed up in the
infrared records. Concrete walkways that had been covered over and are
currently invisible to the naked eye popped back into view. SPOOOOKY! ;-)
Anyway, if you have not seen such a phenomenon latey here is a good example. By
the way, the DC260 seems to be superb in terms of making an infrared image
through visually opaque IR filters. This is due to its capability of manual
setting of a really long exposure time ... up to 16 seconds. So, you have to
use a tripod to get sharp pix but the reward is an instant infrared photo.
You can see the results at: http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/text-ir-examples.html
