The Alden is a daylight-loader, just like the 35mm units....while
the Kindermann can only be used in the dark (and it is nearly
identical with the Linhof lader, which goes for US$833 at
B+H....that's one of the most insane prices in the photo industry,
for nothing more than a wooden L-shape, two rods, a hand-crank and a
film-tensioner (the Kindermann has a film-squeezer instead, to guide
the film into the development reel, but both units can be used for
both tasks (the Linhof was designed to load from bulk roll to
cartridge, the Kindermann for loading cartridge to
development-reel).

For those interested: I still have one Linhof and one Kindermann
loader for sale, US$125 vs US$100 (at B+H, Alden is US$129,
Kindermann US$139, and Linhof US$833).
I also expect to have a 70mm daylight loader from yet another German
brand soon (along with a 70mm Bronica ETRSi back, for sale at
US$350).
