Well, I've had Rodinal useful for as long as two years. It's one of the longest
lasting developers in its CONCENTRATED form. Once mixed with water it only keeps
for a short time, maybe no more than an hour at most. The concentrate seems to
get a darker brown the longer you have it around, but this stuff really lasts and
is economical. There is no way to tell if the developer is still potent just by
looking at the color. Kodak's Dektol print dev eloper can look like black sludge
and still churn out full tone prints. Only way yo tell is developer some test
film which is not important to you. RODINAL also works beautifully with
conventional Black & white films like TMAX 100 too.
