I agree with George on this. I have never had a pinhole problem (but plenty
of scratches, light leaks and fingerprints) in many years of using 4x5 HSI.
The emulsions I have used are similar to those mentioned: 712-55 Exp.6/97
and then 713-1 Exp. 4/99.
Loaded Grafmatic holders in plastic bags are kept in my freezer. Films are
often used after the expiration date.
Earlier this year I photographed the same subject with my last sheet of
6/97 and my first sheet of 4/99. No difference.
