Using a Contax G2

Hi,

A while back I sent a note asking if anyone had used a Contax G2 and
Kodak HIE. I was hoping to  use this camera since it is a rangefinder.
So if  I was to  use an opaque filter (ie 87c) I could still see what I
was taking a picture of.  I was afraid that the IR film counter would
mess up the picture part of the negative.  Even though they might be
wasted, I shot two rolls of HIE with the camera and the 21mm lense and a
red filter. I got back the results today and I am very pleased. The IR
counter did not intrude on the picture at all. I shot a number of frames
with the lense cap on so I could see just what the counter would do and
I am lucky that mine doe not intrude at all.

The thing I forgot about is the data back. Well... If you have data
printed between the frames that intrudes a very little bit. But on the
G2 that is easy to turn off if necessary.

Well off the by an opaque filter for my 21 mm lense.
