question on film

hi all,
im new at ir photography so i have a question. i went to a pretty big
reputable photoshop yesterday to check on prices of film and all. i asked if
they had the kodak 400 high speed ir film and they looked at me like i was
completly off my rocker. they had a kodak ir film but it wasnt the 400
speed. they also had the konica 750.
now my question is, have i been reading info on web sites all wrong about a
high speed ir film from kodak? or are they completly out of the loop. i felt
like an idiot when i asked them and now im really confused as to what i was
reading. any help would be tremendously appreciated,
