The best cameras (read: most exotic) don't have inboard light 
meters....:-))
I even fabricated a sliding-filter solution for my Gossen Sixtomat 
(Gossen 'Pilot' in the US I believe), but it gets a little silly 
finding the same values time after time....

Of course, compared to other films, the cute thing about HIE is that
a) you can't shoot without a (more or less consistently) bright sun,
and b) you bracket anyway +1/0/-1 (at least I do....the technical
best image might be consistently #1/2/3, but the artist often
chooses otherwise, whatever gives the appropriate mood).
