I agree.  Andrew has shown us the possibilities that the digital realm
offers, and I believe that this is where most of our infrared futures lie.
For her 70th birthday, I gave my mother an "inexpensive" Polaroid digital
camera (it replaced her Kodak Instamatic!).  

I put my 87C in front of the
lens and took a couple of pictures in the sunlight.  Although I had to
boost the brightness quite a bit, I did get an image.  I am considering
the purchase of a digital camera some time in the future, so this is
something of great interest to me.
