You need enough power to supply the VCR _and_ an IR light (which has not to
be very strong if your VCR is enough IR sensitive).  I suggest the use of a car
(or truck if you are strong enough :-) battery and a 12V light (20 to 50 W).
For a 50W lightbulb, you need at least a 35 Ah battery for 8 hours ...
